We are a small, friendly pre-school and nursery based in the heart of Cononley, on the outskirts of Skipton. With a dedicated and hugely enthusiastic team of experienced staff, we provide quality care and education for children aged between 2 and 5 years.
Our key goal is to enable children to have fun while forming the basis of their education. We encourage children to explore and to express their individuality, and to develop friendships with other children and adults. We have good links with local village primary schools and ensure we make the transition from pre-school to 'big school' as seamless as possible. We are always available for a friendly and informal chat - you are welcome to visit us, without appointment, at any time.
We are based in the village Institute, a shared community building conveniently located in the centre of Cononley village. We are an equal opportunities pre-school and nursery and all staff employed are security cleared. We are registered with Ofsted and are also members of the Pre-School Learning Alliance. We also offer funded places for 3 and 4 year olds in line with national guidelines.
We pride ourselves on our fun and friendly approach to early years care and education, and we ensure that we achieve our aims with huge amounts of patience, understanding, laughter and cuddles! Our latest Ofsted inspection (May 2006) saw us achieving 'Good' ratings across all areas of our care and education for children. Here are some specific comments from the report:
"Children are cared for in a warm, welcoming and safe environment to meet children's all-round needs. Areas are effectively planned and create a child-centred atmosphere."
"Children really enjoy and achieve as they participate in a wealth of exciting and interesting activies and experiences to support their learning and development."
"Children respected and valued as the staff team show genuine care and interest in all of the children, with the staff presenting themselves as good role models and helping children to feel good about themselves."
